The annual Yazoo Mills Safety Picnic is more than a company tradition—it’s an opportunity to recognize the measurable impact of a strong safety culture. As employees gathered to enjoy lunch, prizes, and time together, we also celebrated the outstanding progress our team has made in reducing workplace injuries and creating an even safer work environment.

A Strong Safety Culture Produces Real Results
Safety is more than a program at Yazoo Mills—it is part of every job, every shift, and every decision we make. Through ongoing training, continuous improvement, and the commitment of every employee, our safety performance has continued to improve year after year.
Based on our four-year average from 2022 through 2025, Yazoo Mills has achieved significant improvements across several key safety metrics:
- 48% reduction in our DART Rate
- 64% reduction in recordable injuries
- 74% reduction in injury severity
- 40.5% reduction in DART time (days away or restricted duty)
- 38% reduction in Workers’ Compensation costs
These improvements represent much more than statistics. They reflect employees looking out for one another, following safe work practices, identifying opportunities for improvement, and making safety a shared responsibility throughout our three manufacturing facilities.
A Well-Deserved Celebration
Employees enjoyed a delicious catered lunch from Hughes Meats, along with cold refreshments, desserts, and plenty of opportunities to relax with coworkers outside the normal workday. The afternoon also featured raffle prizes, giveaways, and Yazoo Mills safety shirts as a small token of appreciation for the hard work and dedication our employees demonstrate throughout the year.
