Fueling the Fun: Yazoo Sponsors Snack Town Runfest

Yazoo Mills was proud to be a Gold Sponsor of the 2023 Snack Town Runfest, a running extravaganza for all ages and abilities held on Saturday, October 7th in the quaint borough of Hanover, PA. All proceeds supported Livestrong at the YMCA Cancer Survivor Program and other need-based YMCA programming.

Our own Yazoo employees Aaron Long and Jared Gorczynski represented us in the race. Aaron ran the 5K, finishing 33rd out of 300 runners. Jared took on the half marathon, trekking 13.1 miles with 70 pounds of gear. He completed the race in 2 hours and 46 minutes, which was 2 minutes faster than his time 15 years ago when he was in the army and qualified for the Expert Infantry Badge. An incredible feat of endurance and determination!

The Yazoo team was also excited to participate in the first annual YMCA Corporate Challenge, a new event held in conjunction with the Runfest. Each team included up to three or more 5K participants, and the competition was judged by the top three run times for each organization. Yazoo’s team put up a strong showing, finishing in the top half of the field.

We are so grateful to everyone who participated in Snack Town Runfest and the YMCA Corporate Challenge, all of the organizers and local supporters for these annual events, and our employees Aaron and Jared for representing Yazoo with such pride!
