We are pleased to announce the hiring of Judy Rang as our new Human Resources Director.
Prior to coming to Yazoo, Judy worked for a business solutions provider in Cockeysville, MD as an HR manager, previously owned an HR consulting firm and is a certified HR professional. With her roots planted in PA, she was eager to find a job near her hometown. Our family-owned business that is well respected nationwide really grabbed her attention and ultimately led to her applying for the position.
As our Human Resources Director, Judy is responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the administrative functions related to employment and safety. As our company is continuing to grow, she has already been busy at work coordinating recruiting efforts to find the right leaders that will help take our company to the next level in manufacturing. What does she like most about Yazoo? She says “The people, everyone is friendly and so willing to step in and help.”
In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her husband and three sons (29, 22, and 17), enjoying the great outdoors, traveling to the beach, being a “baseball Mom” and being a health coach that helps individuals meet (as well as exceed) their health and wellness goals. Her husband just bought a Harley so she is looking forward to warmer weather and a lot of Sunday drives.

Yazoo’s Sales Department provides top-notch service to all customers, big or small. Our team focuses on your pain points and delivers innovative solutions to help make operations more efficient.
We are happy to announce that Wanda Bankert has been promoted to Lead Sales Representative. Wanda has been with Yazoo for 22 years and has been helping our sales department flourish ever since she started with the company. In her new role, she will be assisting the Sales department with any customer, Epicor and operational questions as well as communicating with new and existing customers to discuss their needs and find solutions fit for them, provide quote pricing and lead times and assist customers with the appropriate product selection that is beneficial for their company and customer’s needs.
The family-owned and friendly atmosphere is what she enjoys most about Yazoo. The secret to her 22-year tenure? She says “I enjoy helping customers with their tube and core requirements as well as the generous pay and benefits Yazoo has to offer!”
In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her grandson and family and going antique shopping. A hidden talent of hers? Well, I guess you can say finding new wineries that have great wine — we will call her an amateur wine connoisseur.

We are pleased to announce the hiring of Ray LaBonte, to our Outside Sales team as the Director of Sales – Eastern U.S. Ray’s extensive background, personality and goals align with our vision and values here at Yazoo. A 45-year veteran in the paper tube and core industry with several companies, Ray brings extensive knowledge, development and success to our team.
In his new position, Ray is responsible for growing business in small to medium sized companies in the Eastern U.S. territory. Through new and existing relationships, Ray develops strategic innovation to help customers grow their business and focuses on finding solutions with Yazoo’s products that will allow companies profitable and sustainable growth.
What led Ray to Yazoo? He says “I’ve always heard good things about Yazoo’s family-owned culture, integrity within the marketplace, quality and customer service. What also drew me to Yazoo was how customer-focused they are – they have a strong commitment and dedication to their customers. Yazoo is truly passionate about finding innovative solutions that work for the customer. The culture, values and how focused they are on their employees showed a solid, devoted-team that is continuing to grow and I’m proud to say that I’m part of the team!”

When looking for a new employee to join our amazing team, we make sure we take our time to find the perfect fit, not only for our company but also our customers. It’s important to us to find a teammate who has the drive, determination, compassion and knowledge to allow us to continue giving the best service, experience and products to our valued customers. We are pleased to announce the hiring of Celsea Weaver, who has joined our Customer Service Department.
Celsea, a graduate from Millersville University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, joins our growing team as a new Customer Service Representative. Prior to coming to Yazoo, Celsea worked as a Branch Manager at a local staffing agency. During her tenure there, she worked diligently to place temporary and temp-to-hire staff at local manufacturing facilities. From interviews to placed advertisements to delegating tasks to her recruiters, she’s well-rounded when it comes to customer service.
As a Customer Service Representative for Yazoo, she is responsible for entering custom, stock and purchase orders as well as handling customer inquiries about orders. Additionally, she is taking on a temporary role as Receptionist which includes directing phone calls, handling incoming PO’s, entering website, eBay and Amazon orders, assisting customer inquiries, pricing orders, and preparing sales quotes and catalogs for mailing purposes.
Celsea mentions that she has always heard great things about Yazoo Mills and when she saw the job opening posted, she knew she had to jump on it to continue her career in Customer Service with an extremely reputable company. When asked what she likes most about working at Yazoo, she says “I really enjoy the atmosphere. Everyone is friendly and very welcoming. I also feel extremely valued as a team member which says a lot about a company.”
In her spare time, you can find her socializing with her fiancé, friends and family members. She has a dog named Sam who takes many adventures with her and her fiancé from playing and going on walks to exploring new places. Additionally, she likes to listen to music, shop and decorate her home. When asked if she wanted to share anything else, she continued to say “There are quite a few local manufacturing facilities that I am familiar with from my previous employer that placed orders with Yazoo Mills. It’s great to see local businesses supporting each other. Being familiar with these businesses also helps me understand how many different uses tubes and cores can really have!”

Sales. It’s a special department that takes a special kind of person to be a part of. No two days are a like and most days, you’re running full-force, never walking. A sales person is also a problem solver and has passion for helping people. Meet Wanda Bankert – a seasoned 20-year-veteran at Yazoo Mills, working in our Sales Department as a Senior Sales Associate, with her primary focus in quoting.
Wanda’s day starts as soon as the alarm goes off at 5:45am. Well, okay, maybe after hitting the snooze button once, for 10 minutes… the day officially starts. She hops in the shower, brews a fresh cup of coffee filled with lots of caffeine needed to power through the work day, finishes getting ready, packs her lunch and then she’s out the door, on her way to work.
Once Wanda arrives at work around 8am, she checks her email for quotes, orders and questions about previous quotes. Her main focus throughout the majority of the day is understanding customer’s needs, finding solutions for their industry and providing a quote for high-quality paper tubes or cores. Wanda is responsible for managing 100+ customer accounts each month as well as setting up new accounts, working with customers on in-line printing, custom printed liners and labels. Additionally, she helps enter orders and assists with volume quotes.
After all of her quotes have gone out for the day, Wanda follows-up with customers on supplied sales quotes and reviews new opportunities with them. For her, it’s all about the customers. She says “I enjoy working with the customers and focusing on their needs for tubes and cores. It’s interesting to hear how they use our products.”

We’ve been in business since 1902 and we are STILL growing, more and more each year. With our continuous growth, we are pleased to announce the hiring of Claire Alexander, who has joined our Order Prep Department. Claire, a graduate from Shippensburg University with a degree in Geography/Surveying/Data Collecting & Processing, joins the Yazoo team as the new Document Preparation Specialist.
Before coming to Yazoo, Claire worked for a student loan company in customer service and a Navy support center as a Contract Digitizing Technician. Her knowledge, background and persistence helped pave the way for her new role with our company. As a Document Preparation Specialist, Claire is responsible for pulling orders from the dashboard to prepare them for production, cross-checking all of the important details such as order specs, shipping requests, payment information and packaging specifications. Once she has everything filled in, she prints a production order along with any specs that show the complete order details and shipping labels, then hands them over to the scheduler so they can get the production process started.
For Claire, she applied at Yazoo for a chance at a new experience. She saw an opportunity to gain new skills, be a part of an amazing company and have a much closer drive to home. She enjoys the people she gets to work with. Claire said “Everyone is friendly and willing to help if I have a question and it seems like everyone is on the same track of working together in order to keep the business in proper functioning order.” She also enjoys getting to learn a job that is new and different, feels appreciated by management which was hard to come by at her previous jobs, and the overall friendliness atmosphere that Yazoo presents. Claire continues to say “The pleasantries go a long way here – whether that’s a friendly hello in the morning or someone complimenting how great of a job you’re doing.”
In her spare time, you can find Claire buried in a good book, playing video games or watching a show. She enjoys having board game and cocktail nights with friends, spending time with her husband and playing with their two cats and two dogs. Congrats and welcome aboard, Claire. If you’ve ever called in to place an order or request a quote, you’ve been met with a kind and helpful voice that is eager to assist you with your needs. The person behind that kind voice is Katie Hafer, our new Switchboard Operator/Customer Service, who joined the Yazoo team back in May.
Before coming to Yazoo, Katie previously worked at a local grocery store as the Assistant Customer Service Manager where she was in charge of customer service, answering the phone and handling daily cash flow and deposits. She was looking to find a job that had better hours, pay and awesome benefits which is when she stumbled upon the job opening at Yazoo. Her mother-in-law works out in the plant and encouraged her to apply. She decided to take her advice and it worked out very well for her!
In her current role with the company, her job duties entail answering all incoming phone calls, order entry, pricing orders and other general office tasks. When asked what she likes most about working at Yazoo, she said “Everyone is very nice and always helpful. I also very much enjoying having a set schedule through the week.” In her spare time, she likes spending time with her husband, taking their new puppy, Champ, for walks, as well as spending time with both families, reading, stitching, and scrapbooking.
