Embossing cores is an in-line process where the outer ply of paper runs through a set of embossing cylinders creating a dimpled surface. The embossed surface is designed for ease of start-up and to prevent slippage when winding yarn, string, or non-woven fabrics. Embossing is also used in the carpet industry.
