At Yazoo Mills, we are commtted to being involved in our community’s events and have been for several years now.  Our company donates to many great causes year-round because our support helps strengthen the community in which our employees live.

In 2008, the Hanover YMCA started their LIVESTRONG program which has helped thousands of cancer survivors achieve their potential and lead healthier lives.  This is a free, 12-week program for cancer survivors that meets two times a week for 90 minute sessions.  The program helps survivors move beyond cancer in spirit, mind, and body.

On October 4, 2015, the YMCA of Hanover, PA hosted the “Go the Extra Mile” half marathon to benefit their LIVESTRONG program.  Over 230 runners laced up their sneakers, stretched, and lined up at the starting line to participate in a cause that impacts the lives of cancer survivors and their families.  Yazoo donated $500 to the event which helped contribute to the overall raised proceeds of $13,000.

On Sunday, June 8, 2014, a few of Yazoo Mills’ employees along with their spouses and children participated in Gold’s Gym Hanover’s 1st Annual 5K Walk/Run.  The 5K was held to benefit the American Red Cross and participants raised over $2,000.00 to support the cause.  The race started at 8am and the weather couldn’t have been any better.  The 112 runners and walkers set out on a 3.1 mile trek that included shady lanes, sunny roads, and a few hills.  Wes Eckert, son of Yazoo Mills’ President, placed 3rd in the 18 & under category with a finish time of 24:19!

Yazoo Mills was very supportive with this event.  In fact, any employee that registered and completed the race, was reimbursed their registration fee.
