We’ve been the industry leader in paper tubes and cores for over 117 years which means we have many systems and processes in place and they continue to be the building blocks of our company. With the business market constantly evolving, Yazoo recognizes that ongoing system development is the key to continuous learning, growth and improvement of our successful business. Meet Ryland Moyar | Yazoo’s newest team member with the role of the Process Improvement Coordinator.
Prior to joining Yazoo, Ryland worked for a global technology company as a Product Development Designer and the Six Sigma/Lean Specialist roles. He is certified in the application of Six Sigma, LEAN, 8D, PROSCI Change Management and Kepner Tregoe Problem Solving, which he has used to lead over 100 change events within his career. Ryland has his Associate’s degree in Specialized Technology from York Technical Institute and is currently finishing up with Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University.
In his new role, he will assist Yazoo’s employees by leading change activities to align our business objectives with customer requirements and their efforts. He will interact and collaborate by providing training and driving the improvement opportunities through the use of LEAN and Six Sigma methodologies. When asked what made him apply at Yazoo, he replied “I made the decision based off of the care and compassion I noticed from the leadership to all employees. I heard great things and know that this company is a desirable place to work that fosters engagement and compassion for all aspects of our organization.”
Yazoo’s atmosphere and culture are what he likes best about working at Yazoo. He says “It is very customer focused, which allows me to feel that I can impact the outcome to our customer in a beneficial way.” In his spare time, you can find Ryland spending time with his fiancé, two children (9yr old son and 1.5yr old daughter), hiking around local lakes, enjoying an occasional kayak trip and immersing himself in fine furniture carpentry with plans to start learning blacksmithing.
