Yazoo Mills continues to see growth and is expanding its Maintenance department with the hiring of Don Parks as Maintenance Supervisor.
Parks joins Yazoo Mills following a Maintenance Planner/Lead role at a local Agribusiness. His background in hydraulics, robotics, programming, planning and electrical troubleshooting provides him the skillsets needed to further expand the servicing of production machines to minimize down-time. Parks will collaborate with his team and other departments related to equipment/facility maintenance and focus on implementing improvements to position Yazoo as the industry leader in manufacturing paper tubes and cores.
When asked why he applied to Yazoo, he replied with “I applied to Yazoo because I knew the company would open up opportunities to me that I did not think would be open any time soon at my former employer. Yazoo is always striving for more in every aspect – with their employees, customers and facilities. They truly are a great company to work for!”
In his spare time, you can find Don spending time with his wife and four kids, watching his kids play baseball and softball, listening to audio books, learning to play new instruments, fishing, hiking and playing video games with his kids.

• Can play guitar, piano, bass and is learning to play the drums
• Attended college as a music major but dropped out because he couldn’t get over stage fright
• Makes his own arrows and shoots a recurve bow without sights

Yazoo Mills is excited to welcome Chris Evans as our new Outside Sales Representative. Chris has a BA in Communications from Rowan University (formerly known as Glassboro State) in Glassboro, NJ and brings over 20 years of experience in the tube and core industry to our company.
Prior to joining Yazoo, Chris worked as an Account Representative for a multinational tube and core company. He says that the “family atmosphere, cleanliness of the facility, employee attitude, and opportunity to grow the business and inject my experience as well as the size of the company” all contributed to his decision to join Yazoo.
When asked what he likes most about working at Yazoo, he says he likes the “can do attitude” and common goals expressed by all employees. Chris continues with “The family atmosphere was reinforced by the welcoming manner that I received from everyone. I am happy that I made the move and feel that I am in the right place and look forward to making a difference.” He lives in Myerstown, PA with his girlfriend, Jennifer, and their four dogs. He has three wonderful daughters, Brittany, Kirsten, and Samantha. In his spare time, he likes to watch his daughter play soccer, fish, golf, and bonsai.
Chris brings great energy, enthusiasm, and experience to our team and we are more than happy to have him here. Welcome aboard!

As we continue to expand, there comes a need to add to our list of highly-skilled, professional employees. Our sustained growth has opened up a new position within Yazoo and we are happy o welcome Trisha Schedel, our new Human Resources/Safety Coordinator, to the team!
Trisha is a York College alum with her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After graduation, she soon learned that teaching wasn’t for her and got a jump start into the recruiting world, which began her career path to Human Resources. Before coming to Yazoo, she worked at a local staffing agency. Her background includes recruiting and on-boarding new staff for various industries.
When asked what she likes most about working at Yazoo she said, “I like working at Yazoo for many reasons. My coworkers have been very welcoming and helpful to me over the past month. Employees’ voices are heard and ideas are always welcomed.” She continues to say, “From an HR standpoint, Yazoo’s great reputation attracts many high-quality candidates, which makes recruiting easier!”
In her spare time, you can find Trisha running for miles on end, learning new yoga poses, or crafting up some DIY projects. She is also preparing [and smiling ear-to-ear] for her upcoming wedding in April to her fiancé, Joel.
We are glad to have Trisha onboard and look forward to watching her grow with the company.

When you hear the word “roots” your mind most likely goes immediately to “tree roots.” A tree’s roots are the anchor to the tree in the soil and help keep it straight and stable. Tree roots are much like company roots in the sense that they help keep the company stable while they build and have continuous growth over many, many years.
Yazoo Mills has been around for over 110 years. The company was established in 1902 in the heartland of Yazoo City, Mississippi (hence the company name). We started out as a Yarn and Textile Mill and eventually made our way to our current location in New Oxford, Pennsylvania. Even during the recession, Yazoo stayed true to their employees and didn’t lay a single person off. While many companies were struggling, Yazoo was thriving and continued to build and strengthen a successful company.
At Yazoo, we are a family-owned and operated company. We treat everyone like family. Our employees are what keep our roots strong and everlasting as well as help the company

Our company has been continuously growing over the past few years at a rapid rate and in return, we have seen a growth in the number of our skilled and experienced employees. In
May of 2016, Roxanne Erdman joined our Sales Department as a Customer Service Representative.
Before coming to Yazoo, Roxanne worked in Sales and Marketing Analytics for a nationally recognized drug store. She wanted to find a more stable and reliable job that also allowed her to keep her time with her son, which is what led her to Yazoo Mills. Roxanne started her college career initially as an architecture major but then switched to Psychology. Currently, she has one more year left to finish and will be pursing that in the coming months.
When asked what she likes most about working at Yazoo, she said “I like that it is family-owned and a smaller company which gives an open and friendly environment. Everyone has
been so welcoming and eager to help me learn the business. I am eager to see how I can grow in my career with Yazoo.”
She likes to spend a lot of her time with her three-year-old son and enjoys doing crafts as well as DIY projects. She is a big fan of the new adult coloring books and she is a coffee addict.
Yazoo is happy to welcome Roxanne to our team and look forward to watching her grow with the company.
We would like to give a warm welcome our newest team member, Melinda Cobb. Melinda started at Yazoo Mills in May of 2016 and is currently our Operations/Logistics Assistant. Before coming to Yazoo, she worked as an Auditor and Material Tech at a logistics company in Moline, IL.
What she likes most about working for Yazoo is the people. She says “From my co-workers to my leaders, it is a very positive environment. I have also gained some of the greatest friends already!” Melinda goes on to say “Yazoo is simply a great place for me. From the wonderful people to the opportunities it offers, I am here to stay.”
In her spare time, she likes to go on hikes, workout at the gym, and most importantly, spend time with her family. She is a proud Mom of a beautiful, 15-month-old baby girl, who takes up much of her time. She goes on to say “My daughter has the most irreplaceable personality and I put everything into being the best Mom I can be. For me, being the best person I can be, regardless of where I am at, is very important. I strive to feel reliable wherever I may be.” Welcome to the team, Melinda. We are glad that you are here!
Whenever there is a job vacancy at Yazoo Mills, we always open it up to current employees as well so they have the opportunity to grow into a new position within the company. Recently,
Andrew Reynolds, who has been working at Yazoo for five years, transitioned into a new role as the Shipping Lead Person for our Shipping Department.
Andrew attended East Stroudsburg University and graduated in 2008 with his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. After a few years of being a substitute teacher in a very competitive job market, he decided that he needed a more permanent income which lead him to look for another job. A friend of his mentioned that Yazoo was hiring at the time so he decided to give up substitute teaching for a steady income job with great benefits and opportunity to grow within the company.
He got his start in our Winding Department as a Machine Operator and eventually worked his way up to a Winding Floater. He says “The thing I like most about Yazoo is their continuous growth, which provides a bright future for myself as well as my co-workers.” When he’s not at work, you can find him on his family’s farm, helping his father raise beef cattle and
crops. When he’s not on the farm, he likes to spend his extra time in the woods hunting and doing anything outdoors.
