Yazoo Sponsors N.O. Harvest Day Parade, Enters 1959 Tractor

The quaint town of New Oxford, Pennsylvania, is a wonderful community that is home to Yazoo Mills’ corporate headquarters and one we are proud to be a part of. It’s enriched with rural landscapes, brick sidewalks, tree-lined streets, antique shops, 18th and 19th century Victorian and Colonial homes, and countless traditions like the Harvest Day Festival & Parade.

The New Oxford Harvest Day Parade, presented by the New Oxford Chamber of Commerce and Yazoo Mills, is one of the many traditions our community looks forward to each year. On its 15th year, held on Saturday, October 22nd, this event featured a large crowd who enjoyed a beautiful fall afternoon filled with craft and food vendors, free kids’ activities, and, of course, the parade!

Yazoo Mills, America’s largest family-owned manufacturer of paper tubes and cores for over 120 years and a 40+ year member of the New Oxford Chamber, is proud to sponsor this great event each year. It brings our community together for a day of fun to shop local and watch a fall parade celebration of decorative floats, musical marching, dance performances, costumes, and antique/collectible vehicles. Plus, this year we entered our 1959 White Mustang Tractor!

The Yazoo Mills’ 1959 White Mustang Tractor was used at the Frederick Street plant from 1973 until 1980. It was then retired from the road and used as a jockey tractor at the New Oxford facility. It was then restored from 1985 to 1988 and is occasionally driven for functions like company functions and parades.

Our team members and their families also enjoyed walking with our antique tractor to throw out candy to the crowd. This has become a great tradition for our community, and one we are proud to sponsor and be a part of. We’re looking forward to next year!
